Help wanted – Sgt Thomas Spencer

Ormskirk & District Family History Society have been approached by someone in France seeking to obtain information about (especially a photograph of) Sgt Thomas Spencer from Halsall, who was killed when his aircraft was shot down near Dieppe in July 1944. The local community hold an annual commemoration to honour the men killed and are now producing a report to permanently document the event. They have photos of all the rest of the crew, but not Sgt Spencer. If anyone has any information about Sgt Spencer, his family (his parents were Robert and Mary Spencer of Gregory Lane, Halsall) or any descendents of the family, we’d like to know – please contact Keith Broadbent via membership@odfhs.email.
